If the nut wont go any further, back it off and try again. They can end up screwing up pretty easily. When screwing the parts together initially, allow about 18 of clearance. This will make it easier to align each part. When youre ready to install the shelf, tighten all the screws in that area, and install the shelf. Remember to tighten all remaining screws at the end.
